Langhirano to host 29th Prosciutto di Parma Festival

The 29th edition of the Prosciutto di Parma Festival will take place in Langhirano, in the province of Parma, from September 4 to 6. The event celebrates the Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) product through a program of entertainment, technical meetings, and tasting sessions.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for Friday, September 4, at 18:30, hosted by food writer and presenter Francesca Romana Barberini. The evening will feature a show cooking performance titled ‘Pronti, cuochi, via!’, involving chef Andrea Mainardi and Olympic sprinter Fausto Desalu.

A central feature of the festival is the ‘Prosciutto di Parma Experience,’ an immersive area offering demonstrations, show cooking, and guided tastings of various aging stages and hand-cut varieties. The event also includes sessions focused on Geographical Indications, including the presentation of the volume ‘La filosofia della DOP’.
