Langley City hires MNP LLP for efficiency review

Langley City has hired the professional services firm MNP LLP to conduct an external efficiency and effectiveness review. The initiative aims to examine the city's services, processes, and workflows to identify ways to improve coordination, reduce bottlenecks, and better utilize technology and resources.

Mayor Nathan Pachal stated that the review is not intended to reduce services or result in layoffs, but rather to ensure the city has the necessary structure to manage operations effectively over the next decade. He emphasized the goal of ensuring taxpayer money is used as efficiently as possible.

City Chief Administrative Officer Francis Cheung noted that the independent perspective provided by MNP LLP will help improve processes and support employees while maintaining high service quality. The final report from the consultancy is expected to be presented to the City Council in fall 2026.
