Langley introduces senior hockey program and Vancouver FC pushes for playoffs
Langley is introducing a new non-contact, drop-in hockey program specifically for seniors aged 60 and older. Overseen by Frank Roberto, the initiative aims to help local players stay active and engage with the community. The program will be held at The Arenas at the Langley Events Centre every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Organizers are seeking 26 players to form two teams, with goalies playing for free and other participants paying a $10 fee.
In professional soccer, Vancouver FC is entering a critical period of its season as the team pushes for its first-ever playoff spot. Players have expressed the importance of local community support during the final three regular-season matches, noting that fan engagement provides significant motivation on the field.
