Langreo residents report sewage discharge at construction site
Residents in Langreo have reported a serious public health issue involving the discharge of sewage at a municipal urbanization site. The Plataforma por el Soterramiento de Langreo expressed indignation regarding the works managed by the regional Ministry of Mobility.
The collective reported that a broken PVC pipe from construction site facilities is discharging fecal matter and toilet paper into a storm drain. This has resulted in unpleasant odors and an influx of flies in the area, affecting pedestrians near Jovellanos Street.
In addition to the sanitation concerns, the group criticized the quality of the construction, citing loose tiles and problematic roundabouts that have caused issues for vehicles. The collective has called on local urban planning authorities to inspect the site, report the situation to the Ministry of Mobility, and initiate disciplinary proceedings.
