Language education initiatives focus on certification and multilingualism in Greece
Educational initiatives in Greece are highlighting the importance of language through both formal certification and creative student engagement.
EKEDIM Theochariopoulos is offering remote English language courses designed to provide certifications at B2, C1, and C2 levels. These TIE (Test of Interactive English) certificates are recognized by ASEP in Greece and OFQUAL internationally, allowing students to participate in competitive examinations and teacher appointments. The program includes remote proctored exams conducted via computer.
In a different approach to language education, students at Kleidi Elementary School in Imathia participated in a creative project to produce an original song titled ‘Our Languages Unite Us’. Led by English teacher Foteini Liasia, the project aimed to promote multilingualism, communication, and cultural diversity. Students from all grades contributed verses to the song, using the activity to explore how different languages serve as bridges for community and understanding.
