LaNorris Sellers seeks rebound under new South Carolina offensive coordinator
South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers enters his junior season facing high expectations following a regressive 2025 campaign. After a standout 2024 season that included a significant victory over Clemson, Sellers struggled in 2025, finishing with 2,437 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, and eight interceptions, while his rushing production dropped significantly.
The Gamecocks' offense struggled throughout the previous year, resulting in a 4-8 overall record and a 1-7 mark in the SEC. To address these issues, the team has appointed Kendal Briles as the new offensive coordinator.
SEC defensive coordinators have noted that while Sellers can struggle with processing in the middle of games, his physical ability to run makes him a difficult player to tackle. Analysts suggest that Briles' system may better utilize Sellers' running abilities, potentially helping the team return to a 10-win season and compete for a spot in the College Football Playoff.
