LANOTEC lubricant improves waste equipment reliability
A project conducted with Mil-Tek Waste Solutions in Springvale, Victoria, has demonstrated the effectiveness of LANOTEC General Purpose lubricant in maintaining cardboard compactor equipment. The lubricant was utilized to protect pneumatic rams from moisture, contaminants, and corrosion in harsh operating environments.
Key findings from the project include the stabilization of existing rust on steel components and the displacement of moisture to prevent further degradation. The lubricant forms a flexible protective film that extends the service life of machinery and reduces the frequency of maintenance compared to conventional products.
Broadly, selecting appropriate industrial lubricants is critical for reducing friction, heat, and wear in components such as bearings, chains, and gears. Using incorrect viscosity or inadequate products can lead to component failure, whereas proper selection supports dependable machine performance and protects against corrosion.
