River Plate loses to Tigre, extending historic losing streak

River Plate suffered a 1-0 defeat against Tigre in Victoria during the fourth round of the Torneo Clausura, extending their losing streak to six consecutive local matches. The match's only goal was scored by Ignacio Russo in the 78th minute following a defensive error by Aníbal Moreno.

The loss leaves River Plate at the bottom of Group B, having failed to score any goals or earn any points in the current tournament. The club's crisis includes a historic negative streak, marking one of the worst periods in its 125-year history.

Following the match, River Plate coach Eduardo Coudet expressed his willingness to step down if results do not improve, stating, "If the results don't happen, I'm not going to do harm to the club." Captain Nicolás Otamendi criticized the officiating and VAR, noting the team is in a "critical moment." River Plate will next face Independiente Santa Fe in the Copa Sudamericana.
