Lantan Reservoir musical fountain to resume performances in Chiayi

The musical fountain at Lantan Reservoir in Chiayi City is scheduled to resume performances on the evening of August 28. The fountain had been suspended since February 25 due to low reservoir water levels caused by insufficient rainfall earlier this year.

Following a rise in water levels and the completion of equipment maintenance and testing, the Chiayi City Government has confirmed the system is ready for operation. During the summer season, performances will take place nightly at 7:30 PM, 8:30 PM, and 9:30 PM.

In conjunction with the fountain's return, the city is promoting its new polar bear art installations located at Sister Pavilion, the reservoir loop trail, and Fanyue Square. These three distinct figures—the “Relaxing Polar Bear,” the “Photography Polar Bear,” and the “Reading Polar Bear”—are intended to enhance the tourist experience alongside the reservoir's natural scenery.
