Lanterns cast expresses interest in potential HBO series renewal

Cast members J. Alphonse Nicholson and Jasmine Cephas Jones have expressed strong interest in returning for a second season of the HBO series ‘Lanterns’. While HBO, DC Studios, and Warner Bros. TV have not yet officially announced a renewal, Nicholson cited the show’s early viewership figures—noting 9.3 million viewers in three days—as a reason for optimism.

Nicholson, who portrays John Stewart Sr., expressed a desire to explore his character’s redemption arc and his relationship with a teenage John Stewart. Jasmine Cephas Jones, who plays Bernadette Stewart, noted an interest in exploring the intensity and resilience of her character. Creator Damon Lindelof has previously indicated there is creative potential for further seasons.
