Lanterns episode 6 advances Hal Jordan murder mystery
The HBO series ‘Lanterns’ has reached a major narrative turning point with its sixth episode, ‘Bad Optics.’ Set in 2026, ten years after the destruction of Rushville, the story follows John Stewart, now an architect, as he is drawn back to Nebraska to investigate the murder of his former partner, Hal Jordan.
The episode features the appearance of Guy Gardner, played by Nathan Fillion, who has established a Green Lantern beacon in Rushville. The plot introduces significant developments for the DC Universe, including the potential escape of Sinestro and the use of a ‘Halogram’—a backup consciousness of Hal Jordan—to assist John Stewart in his investigation.
Critics and viewers have noted the show’s successful transition into a somber murder mystery, drawing comparisons to prestige dramas. The series continues to build momentum, with upcoming episodes expected to resolve the mystery of Hal Jordan’s death and explore broader cosmic implications within the DCU.
