Lanterns showrunner begins planning for potential second season
Showrunner Chris Mundy has revealed that planning for a potential second season of the HBO series ‘Lanterns’ is already underway, despite the show not yet receiving an official renewal. Mundy and co-creator Christopher Cantwell are currently in the story-breaking stages for a possible second installment.
Mundy noted that the creative team is approximately six weeks into laying out a potential season. He emphasized the need to work with confidence as if a renewal is certain, while remaining emotionally prepared for the possibility that it may not happen.
Due to other commitments, original co-creators Damon Lindelof and Tom King will not return for a second season. Mundy indicated that if the show continues, the team intends to tell the story in a fresh way using familiar characters. The first season, which follows Hal Jordan and John Stewart, is currently airing on HBO.
