L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele opens first Polish location in Wrocław

The historic Neapolitan pizzeria L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele has expanded to Poland, opening its first international location in Wrocław. Established in 1870, the brand is globally recognized for its traditional recipes and was famously featured in the film ‘Eat Pray Love’.

According to Francesco Cannavaciuolo, the choice of Wrocław was driven by the city’s dynamic energy, architecture, and openness to international cultures. The expansion involves significant logistical efforts to maintain authenticity, including importing certified ingredients directly from the Campania region, such as San Marzano tomatoes grown in volcanic soil near Mount Vesuvius, specific flour, and fior di latte cheese.

Operators noted that adapting to the local microclimate presented a technical challenge, as the dough requires precise management of temperature and humidity to maintain traditional quality.
