Lanzarote authorities announce subsidies for fisheries and La Geria viticulture

The Cabildo de Lanzarote y La Graciosa has announced two new subsidy programs to support the primary sector on the islands. One initiative focuses on the La Geria viticulture area, with a total budget of 720,602.05 euros. These funds aim to improve the profitability of vineyards and preserve the protected viticultural landscape. Eligible applicants include individuals and legal entities involved in grape cultivation within the protected area. Subsidies are calculated based on production status, pit depth, and slope, with a maximum of 1,000 euros per hectare.

A second program targets the fishing sector in Lanzarote and La Graciosa. This funding is intended for professionals and entities to invest in vessels, occupational safety, and energy efficiency.

The viticulture funding is co-financed by the Government of the Canary Islands, which provides 31%, and the Cabildo de Lanzarote y La Graciosa, which covers the remaining 69%. Applications must be submitted within 15 business days following the official publication in the Boletín Oficial de la Provincia de Las Palmas.
