Lanzarote hosts 30th edition of El Río swimming crossing

Natalia Sasu and Herminio Fernández won the 30th edition of the ‘El Río’ swimming crossing, held between the beach of Bajo Risco in Haría and Caleta de Sebo in La Graciosa. The event was organized by the Insular Sports Service of the Cabildo de Lanzarote.

In the women's category, María Wood and Lily Gopar completed the podium alongside Sasu. In the men's category, Álvaro Cabrera and Diego Vázquez joined Fernández on the podium. This edition also introduced the ‘Travesía Chinija’, a competition specifically designed for children from Lanzarote and La Graciosa.

To mark the 30th anniversary, the organization honored several individuals and institutions, including the Real Club Victoria and former competition director Francisco Bello García. Other recognitions were given to Margarona Páez Guadalupe, the Teguise City Council, and Líneas Romero for their long-standing collaboration.
