Lanzarote hosts 52 SUPER SERIES Royal Cup in Puerto Calero

The 52 SUPER SERIES Royal Cup is returning to Puerto Calero, Lanzarote, marking the fourth event of the 2026 season. The competition features 13 teams, including those that participated in the previous regatta held in July.

Practice racing has indicated a shift from the high winds experienced last month to more manageable conditions, though strong winds are forecasted for the upcoming Friday and Saturday. Recent practice sessions saw victories by Pieter Heerema’s ‘No Way Back’ and Andrea Lacorte’s ‘Alkedo Cetilar’.

Competing for the historic Royal Cup, three-time winner Harm Müller-Spreer expressed confidence in his team’s performance. Meanwhile, Pieter Heerema, who frequently trains out of the Puerto Calero marina, remains cautious about his winning chances despite his familiarity with the local waters.
