Lanzarote water council finalizes 2027-2033 planning scheme

The Lanzarote Insular Water Council has consolidated its Scheme of Important Issues (ETI) for the 2027-2033 period. This document identifies the primary water-related challenges and needs for the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.

Oswaldo Betancort, president of the Cabildo and the Water Council, emphasized the importance of proactive planning to secure future water supplies. He noted that the island relies heavily on desalination and aims to prevent future water emergencies by scheduling infrastructure investments and projects in advance rather than reacting only when problems arise.
