Lao Cai advances land database and national target program funding

Lao Cai province is making significant progress in developing its national land database and accelerating the disbursement of national target program funds.

In its effort to complete the national land database, the province launched a 120-day campaign starting in April 2026. As of early October 2026, the province has updated and managed 4,899,737 land parcels on the VBDLIS system, covering all 99 communes and wards. Cadastral surveying has been completed for 70,413 hectares, representing 75.9% of the approved project volume. Local authorities, including those in Ban Xeo commune, have implemented specialized task forces to assist ethnic minority populations in completing the data process.

Simultaneously, Lao Cai is working to expedite the disbursement of over 2,276 billion VND in central budget funds allocated for national target programs in 2026. The province aims to reach a minimum disbursement rate of 75% by the end of October 2026, with a goal of 95% by the end of the fiscal year. Funds are primarily directed toward new rural construction, sustainable poverty reduction, and socio-economic development in mountainous and ethnic minority areas.
