Vietnam reports fatal floods, forest ranger death, and abandoned infants

Multiple tragic incidents have been reported across Vietnam. In Lâm Đồng, a group of campers was struck by sudden upstream floodwaters at the Đồng Măng spillway; one 24-year-old man was found dead, while a 13-year-old girl was rescued safely.

In Lào Cai, a forest ranger went missing while patrolling the Red River. His body was recovered near Phú Thịnh Bridge after more than a day of searching. Additionally, a passenger bus caught fire while descending a mountain pass in Cốc San, though all passengers and the driver escaped without injury.

Social incidents include the discovery of an abandoned newborn girl in Nghệ An, left with a note from an ‘unfortunate mother’ citing difficult circumstances. In TP.HCM, another newborn was found in a plastic bag and subsequently taken to a medical center for care after being discovered by a local resident.
