Lao Cai police identify 12 teenagers throwing stones at highway vehicles

Police in Lao Cai province have identified a group of 12 teenagers responsible for repeatedly throwing stones at vehicles traveling on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway. The investigation was launched following a report from the Futa Ha Son Transport Joint Stock Company, which stated that one of its passenger buses sustained damage to its windows and side panels while traveling from Hanoi toward Lao Cai.

Authorities determined that the group frequently gathered near kilometer marker 217 in the Hong Cam area of Bao Ha commune to pick up stones and hurl them at passing cars and trucks. Because the incidents occurred near the boundary of Bao Thang and Bao Ha communes, local police coordinated with Highway Traffic Police Team No. 1 to verify the actions of each individual.

Law enforcement officials have transferred the case files and the involved individuals to the Bao Ha commune police for further legal processing. Authorities emphasized that throwing objects at high-speed vehicles is a dangerous act that can cause driver distraction, vehicle damage, or fatal accidents.
