Lao Cai police seize motorcycle after driver attempts to evade breathalyzer test

A male motorcyclist, identified as L. A. T. (born 2003), was caught by traffic police in Lao Cai province while attempting to evade a breathalyzer test. During a patrol on National Highway 32 in Pung Luong commune, officers observed the individual, who was riding a motorcycle without a license plate, exhibiting signs of alcohol consumption.

According to the Lao Cai Provincial Police, the driver attempted to deceive officers by puffing out his cheeks to simulate blowing into the device while actually holding his breath. Subsequent testing confirmed a breath alcohol concentration of 1.037 mg/l, which is approximately 2.59 times the legal limit of 0.4 mg/l. This represents the highest level of violation for motorcycle operators.

In addition to the high alcohol level, the driver lacked a valid driving license, vehicle registration, and mandatory civil liability insurance. Authorities have seized the vehicle and issued an administrative violation report for processing.
