Lao Cai promotes diverse tourism through seasonal experiences
Lao Cai is working to establish itself as a unique travel destination by leveraging its diverse natural landscapes and cultural heritage. The region aims to expand its tourism space through connections between key sites such as Sa Pa, Fansipan, Bac Ha, and Y Ty.
To avoid reliance on peak seasons, the province is adopting a “four-season” strategy. This approach offers distinct experiences for every time of year: spring festivals and local culture, summer trekking and wellness retreats, autumn rice terrace landscapes, and winter cloud hunting and mountain relaxation.
Ecotourism remains a primary focus, utilizing the region's mountains, waterfalls, and hot springs to develop activities like adventure sports and wellness care. In areas like Tu Le, businesses are integrating nature with local culture by organizing trekking tours that allow visitors to experience traditional cuisine and village life.
