Lao Cai province launches smart tourism development plan

Lao Cai province has issued a strategic plan for the 2026–2030 period, with a vision toward 2035, to develop smart cultural and resort tourism. This initiative focuses on integrating wellness services with the province's unique local ecosystems.

Key tourism areas are seeing significant activity. In Mu Cang Chai, the seasonal transition of terrace rice fields to golden hues is driving peak visitor numbers for sightseeing, community tourism, and local dining. Meanwhile, Sa Pa is enhancing visitor experiences by implementing digital utilities, including public Wi-Fi and digital kiosks, to improve information connectivity and service quality.

Other regional highlights include trekking activities at Ta Chi Nhu and the promotion of ethnic cultural identities in areas like Thac Ba to create distinctive tourism products.
