Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia defense ministers hold trilateral meeting in Hanoi

Defense ministers from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia met in Hanoi for the 10th annual trilateral meeting and the 5th joint civil defense exercise. The leaders emphasized strengthening defense cooperation, border management, and political stability among the three nations.

Vietnamese General Secretary and President To Lam received high-level delegations from Laos and Cambodia. He met with Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Khamlieng Outhakaysone, as well as Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Tea Seiha. To Lam expressed support for closer defense ties and urged enhanced information sharing and coordination in border protection.

In addition to security discussions, Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung met with Lao official Vilay Lakhamphong to discuss translating strategic cohesion into practical economic projects and infrastructure connectivity. The meetings underscored a shared commitment to regional stability and bilateral development.
