Laojun Mountain recruits cloud observer in China

The Laojun Mountain scenic area in Henan Province, China, recently recruited a ‘cloud sea observer’ for a one-month position, attracting over 3,500 applicants. The role, which ran from July 16 to August 15, offered a monthly salary of 60,000 NDT (approximately 233 million VND) along with free accommodation.

Li Sichen, known online as @xiaozao, was selected for the position based on video content quality and social media engagement. Despite the perception of it being an easy job, the role required significant effort. Li reported having to wake up at 5:00 AM daily to film before sunrise and work until sunset, utilizing skills in videography, color grading, and drone operation to capture various angles of the mountain's cloud formations.
