LAP BLACK project partners meet in Sakarya to discuss climate adaptation

International partners of the LAP BLACK project gathered in Sakarya, Turkey, for an experience-sharing meeting held from September 16 to 18. Supported by the European Union’s Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Program, the initiative aims to increase local resilience and adaptation to climate change within the Black Sea region.

During the event, participants visited Turkey’s first Sustainable Climate Park, located on a 5,000-square-meter site in the Güneşler neighborhood of Adapazarı. The park, which is nearing completion, features applications focused on renewable energy, recycling, efficient use of natural resources, and environmental awareness.

The delegation included representatives from Istanbul Technical University, the Municipality of Kabuleti in Georgia, the Municipality of Kavala in Greece, and the Union of Business Support Centers in Ukraine. The meeting focused on sharing climate action plans, discussing environmental challenges faced in different geographies, and evaluating methods to implement similar sustainable urban practices across various regions.
