L’Aquila hosts debate on AI and digital infrastructure for future cities

Ance Abruzzo and Ance L’Aquila, in collaboration with the Comitato di Coordinamento L’Aquila 2026, hosted a debate in L’Aquila titled “Costruire città future” (Building Future Cities). The event focused on the integration of artificial intelligence and new digital infrastructures into urban governance and development.

Expert Carlo Ratti, founder of Carlo Ratti Associati, participated in the discussion, highlighting how sensors, data, and real-time monitoring systems are becoming essential for physical urban management. Ratti noted that medium-sized cities now have unique opportunities to serve as laboratories for innovation, attracting investment and talent through flexible work models and agile experimentation.
