L'Aquila launches €10.1 million restoration of Ex Convento di Santa Teresa

The municipality of L'Aquila has approved the executive project for the restoration of the historic Ex Convento di Santa Teresa on Via Roma. The integrated contract, financed with €10.1 million, will begin consolidation and recovery works that aim to return the building to the city as a valuable cultural asset. Adjustments to the design addressed underground chambers and heritage‑preservation requirements without increasing the overall budget. Mayor Pierluigi Biondi and Vice‑Mayor Raffaele Daniele said the project is a key step in rebuilding the city’s public heritage and will provide citizens with an important landmark for the future.

The works are set to start after a lengthy technical‑administrative process, with the updated plan aligning with current price lists and preserving the original financial allocation.
