L'Aquila to host national summit on forgiveness and youth
The fourth edition of the national summit ‘Il Perdono nutre il Mondo’ (Forgiveness Nourishes the World) will take place on August 29 at the Teatro San Filippo in L'Aquila, Italy. This year’s summit focuses on the theme: ‘Does forgiveness open the future? Youth and the freedom to choose.’
The event is part of the 732nd Perdonanza Celestiniana, a tradition rooted in the legacy of Pope Celestine V. L'Aquila holds the title of ‘Capital of Forgiveness, Reconciliation, and Peace,’ a designation renewed by Pope Francis in 2022. The summit aims to explore forgiveness not merely as a spiritual or historical concept, but as a human and civic necessity that provides a perspective for the future amidst global conflicts and social crises.
Organized by One Groupe in collaboration with the L'Aquila Made In association, the summit will feature a diverse panel of speakers, including philosophers, sociologists, and educators such as Massimo Cacciari and Diego Fusaro. The program is structured around three main pillars: Understanding, Forgiving, and Choosing.
