L'Aquila's Perdonanza Celestiniana 732 announced with Rai 1 prime‑time broadcast

The 732nd Perdonanza Celestiniana was presented at Palazzo Margherita in L'Aquila. The event is part of the city’s role as Italy’s Capital of Culture 2026 and will run from 23 to 30 August 2026 with a programme of concerts, theatre and family activities across the historic centre.

The opening ceremony on 23 August will be aired live in prime time on Rai 1 under the title “La Forza del Perdono”, hosted by Lorena Bianchetti and Gabriele Corsi. Musical direction is entrusted to Leonardo De Amicis, with the Istituzione Sinfonica Abruzzese, young musicians from the Conservatorio “Alfredo Casella” and the Cori Riuniti dell’Aquila forming a large orchestra and choir.

Featured performers include Gianni Morandi, Massimo Ranieri, Sal Da Vinci, Marco Masini, Simone Cristicchi, Laura Chiatti, Raoul Bova, Giorgio Pasotti, Edoardo Prati and Luca Violini. Highlights of the schedule are a concert‑event by Geolier on 25 August, a show by Alessandro Siani on 26 August and a closing “Concerto per L’Aquila” by Il Volo on 30 August, accompanied by the youth orchestra of the Conservatorio.
