Lara authorities seize 28 illegal slot machines
Authorities in Lara state, Venezuela, seized 28 illegal, artisanally manufactured slot machines during a series of inspections at six different betting centers. The operation was conducted by the National Inspectorate and the Office for the Prevention of Money Laundering of the National Casino Commission (CNC), with support from the National Lottery Commission (Conalot) and the Institute of Public Beneficence and Social Assistance (Iobpas).
The crackdown was based on Article 54 of the Law for the Control of Casinos, Bingo Halls, and Slot Machines. The confiscated equipment has been moved to a CNC storage facility and placed under the jurisdiction of the Public Ministry to facilitate further investigations. Government officials stated that supervision will continue throughout the central-western region to prevent financial crimes and the proliferation of clandestine gambling devices.
