Lara state receives Plan 5x5 to boost exports and investment
The Instituto Marca País has launched the ‘Plan 5x5’ in Lara state to position the region as a strategic hub for investment, foreign trade, and cultural projection. The initiative aims to strengthen productive, commercial, gastronomic, and heritage sectors by integrating local capabilities with international markets.
Andreína Tarazón Bolívar, president of the institute, stated that the goal is to consolidate Lara as an economic attraction center for Venezuela by leveraging its unique cultural wealth and geographic location. The strategy involves using the hotel and service infrastructure as promotional platforms for high-quality regional products with export potential, such as larense cocuy, specialty coffee, and Tintorero handicrafts.
The pilot phase is being implemented in partnership with several hotels affiliated with the Venezuelan Association of Five-Star Hotels (Avencintel), including Trinitarias Suites, Biotel, Lidotel Barquisimeto, and Hotel Jirahara. The plan also includes digital tools like interactive web portals and QR codes to promote tourism and commerce, supported by both public and private sector entities.
