Laramie Peak Fire Zone Foundation hosts bison hunt raffle

The Laramie Peak Fire Zone Foundation is hosting its annual buffalo hunt raffle to raise funds for the local volunteer fire department near Wheatland, Wyoming. The grand prize is a guided bison hunt, often held in cooperation with the Twin Pine Bison Co. ranch, where bison are raised in a natural, free-range habitat.

Tickets for the raffle are priced at $5 each or five tickets for $20. The foundation, established in 1965 as a non-profit rural fire zone, was formed following the Cottonwood Fire of 1964 to ensure local protection. The organization has historically utilized fundraisers and grants to procure essential equipment, such as fire trucks.
