Laredo-Seña highway CA-500 expected to finish in four weeks

The CA-500 highway connecting Alto de Laredo and Seña is expected to be completed within a maximum of four weeks, according to Roberto Media, the Minister of Public Works.

During a session of the Parliament, Media explained that the project, which began in August 2024 with a budget of 2.3 million euros, faced delays due to necessary modifications. These changes included the construction of large rock revetments and emergency interventions following a slope collapse.

A geotechnical study revealed ground movement in the upper section, prompting a second emergency action to ensure long-term stability. Media stated that the government chose to address these structural issues rather than paving over unstable terrain.

Currently, officials are negotiating with local residents regarding a modification to a wall on the final unpaved curve to prevent the destruction of local swimming pools. The modified project is under supervision and is expected to be approved shortly.
