Laredo, Texas Seizes Over $1 Million Worth of Cocaine at Two Border Crossings

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized more than $1 million in illegal cocaine in two separate incidents at Laredo, Texas, ports of entry. On July 20, a secondary inspection at the World Trade Bridge uncovered 16 packages containing about 37.4 lb of cocaine in a Kenworth trailer driven by a 31‑year‑old Mexican man. Two days later, at the Juarez‑Lincoln Bridge, officers found 22 packages with roughly 50.4 lb of cocaine in a Kia Sportage driven by a 37‑year‑old Mexican woman. The combined street‑value was estimated at $1,175,967. Both drivers were arrested and turned over to ICE officials, and the vehicles were seized. Port Director Alberto Flores said, “These significant seizures underscore the dedication and vigilance of our CBP officers in preventing dangerous narcotics from entering our country.”
