Laremy Tunsil to miss significant time with torn triceps

Washington Commanders starting left tackle Laremy Tunsil suffered a torn triceps during a one-on-one pass-rush drill in training camp. The injury occurred during a rep against defensive end Odafe Oweh.

Tunsil, a five-time Pro Bowler who recently signed a two-year, $60.2 million contract extension, is expected to undergo surgery. Reports indicate he will miss a "significant portion" of the 2026 regular season, with some estimates suggesting a recovery timeline of four to seven months.

The injury leaves the Commanders' offensive line in a difficult position, especially as the team seeks to protect quarterback Jayden Daniels. Potential replacements for the left tackle position include Andrew Wylie, Brandon Coleman, and Josh Conerly.
