Large fires reported in Peru and Argentina

Major fires were reported in Jicamarca, Peru, and Luján de Cuyo, Argentina, causing significant property damage.

In Jicamarca, a large fire consumed a paint and thinner factory on Lima Avenue. The General Volunteer Firefighters Corps of Peru deployed eight fire engines and other specialized units to control the blaze. Commander Pablo García reported that the emergency was contained using special foam due to the presence of flammable substances. While official reports indicated no injuries among firefighters, local residents claimed some individuals were transported in private vehicles before emergency services arrived. The fire caused the roof to collapse and led to the explosion of cylinders.

In Luján de Cuyo, Argentina, a fire broke out in a workshop on Alberti Street, destroying five vehicles, including three cars and two trucks. The flames also spread to an adjacent carpentry shop. Emergency crews from Luján de Cuyo, Cuartel Central, and Maipú worked to contain the fire, which involved explosions from the vehicles and fuel spills. One woman nearby required medical assistance after suffering a physical collapse during the incident.
