Larissa 870 MW Gas Power Plant Project Advances in Greece

A new 870 MW natural‑gas power plant is moving toward construction in Larissa, Greece. The project is being developed by a consortium in which DEPA Trading holds 35%, Israeli‑based Clavenia Ltd 38.5%, EUSIF Larissa 16.5% and Volton 10%.

The selection of the EPC contractor has been completed, with Greek firm GEK TERNA named the builder; a Chinese firm CEEC also submitted a binding offer. The EPC contract signing is slated for later today, clearing the way for the Final Investment Decision expected by the end of the year.

The consortium has already secured a Mitsubishi turbine, with delivery scheduled for 2029. The turbine can operate with up to 20% hydrogen blend, supporting Greece’s energy‑transition goals.
