Larissa Anti-War Movement protests Tyrnavos home auction

The Anti-War Movement of Larissa has issued a statement regarding a family in Tyrnavos facing the imminent loss of their home through an auction. The property was reportedly auctioned for 33,404 euros.

The movement criticized the Greek government's budgetary priorities, contrasting the family's situation with the significant increase in national military spending. They noted that defense expenditures rose from 4.19 billion euros in 2016 to a projected 6.94 billion euros in 2025, with further increases expected. The group highlighted the long-term defense investment program (EMPAE) for 2025-2037, which anticipates spending between 25 and 28 billion euros on equipment such as F-35 fighter jets.
