Larissa Architects Association supports president facing lawsuit

The Larissa Architects Association has issued a statement expressing full support for its president, Nestor Kanellos, following a lawsuit filed against him by a construction company. The company, which holds a major stake in the House of Alexander, is seeking 200,000 euros in damages, alleging defamatory statements.

The dispute stems from Kanellos’s actions as the association's representative, specifically his requests for inspections of works being conducted on the House of Alexander. The association claims the lawsuit is an attempt at intimidation and censorship intended to silence their efforts to protect the city's architectural heritage. This legal action follows the recent cancellation of a demolition permit for the building by the Building Authority, despite the structure being under protection status.
