Larissa Court sentences man to life for raping stepdaughter

A Mixed Jury Court in Larissa has sentenced a 44-year-old man to life imprisonment for the repeated rape of his 9-year-old stepdaughter. In addition to the life sentence, he received an additional 15 years for the abuse of a minor under his care.

The crimes occurred between 2023 and 2025 in the regions of Larissa and Magnesia. According to the indictment, the abuse began while the girl's mother was traveling in Albania, leaving the child under the defendant's supervision. The perpetrator reportedly used threats against the child's relatives to ensure her silence.

During the trial, the defendant claimed the allegations were fabricated for financial reasons, and the mother denied the charges. However, the court found the defendant guilty unanimously, citing the child's testimony and child psychologist reports as decisive evidence.
