Larissa Folklore Museum hosts Narrative Embroidery Group meeting
The Narrative Embroidery Group will hold its second meeting at the Folklore Historical Museum of Larissa on October 23, 2026. Titled ‘Giving Shape to Memory,’ the initiative focuses on the customary cycle of Thessaly.
The project explores embroidery as a medium for artistic expression and cultural storytelling. Participants aim to use local customs, rituals, and traditional practices from Thessaly as inspiration for contemporary creative approaches. During the meeting, members will discuss ongoing themes, present progress, and exchange ideas for future developments.
Fani Kalokairinou serves as the scientific editor, emphasizing the connection between embroidery and the symbolic content of Thessalian traditions. Ifigeneia Sdoukou provides artistic direction, supporting the investigation of expressive possibilities and the translation of traditional patterns into new narrative and visual compositions.
