Larissa Implements Traffic Block on Georgiadi Road for Central Island Construction

From 07:00 to 15:00 beginning on 12 June, the municipality of Larissa will fully close the stretch of Georgiadi Road between Zoeodochou Pigís and Dionysou. Vehicles travelling in that corridor must turn left onto Zoeodochou Pigís and can re‑enter Georgiadi Road via Dionysou to continue toward N. Smyrna. Bus services of the Ultravistiko KTEL will be rerouted to terminate at the central bus station without using the closed segment.

The closure supports the building of a new central island on Georgiadi Road, part of the “Connection of Archaeological‑Cultural Points in the City of Larissa” project. The work, funded by the EU Recovery and Resilience Fund through Greece’s Ministry of Environment and Energy, has a budget of €3.75 million and aims to improve urban space and access to cultural sites. The municipality asks drivers to be patient and follow alternate routes.
