Larissa Municipal Art Gallery launches commemorative stamp series

The Municipal Art Gallery of Larissa – George I. Katsigris Museum is launching a commemorative stamp series dedicated to its collection. An event celebrating the intersection of art and philately will take place on Friday, October 9, at 7 p.m. in Larissa.

The release aligns with the United Nations' declaration of 2026 as the ‘International Year of the Woman Farmer,’ aiming to highlight the essential contributions of women to agri-food systems and family economies. The stamps feature artworks from the Katsigris collection depicting women from the agricultural world and the Greek countryside at various stages of life. Featured artists include Konstantinos Maleas, Theofraustis Triantafyllidis, Stavros Papapanagiotou, and Apostolos Geralis.

During the event, the Hellenic Post will offer the opportunity to purchase the stamps and philatelic products on-site, along with a special commemorative stamp. For those in Athens, the commemorative stamp will also be available on October 14 and 21 at the Syntagma Square Post Office.
