Larissa pensioners hold rally to protest cost of living

Pensioners in Larissa and throughout Thessaly held a Pan-Thessalian rally to protest policies they claim compress their income and degrade their quality of life. Evangelia Liakouli, a PASOK-KINAL Member of Parliament for Larissa, stated that the demonstration sends a clear message against inflation and economic insecurity.

Liakouli proposed a framework of measures to support retirees, including the gradual reintroduction of the 13th pension and EKAS, significant pension increases, and the reform of the solidarity contribution. She also called for a 120-installment regulation for debts to insurance funds to help bolster retiree income and ensure a sustainable social security system.
