Larissa hosts Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet at Ancient Theatre

The Municipal Theater of Ioannina will present a production of William Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet: A Summer Night’ at the Second Ancient Theatre of Larissa on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 21:00.

The performance is part of the International Network of Ancient Drama. The production features a unique setting where a group of craftsmen discovers an ancient theater ruin and constructs an improvised stage. The play, translated by Dionysis Kapsalis and directed by Rhenio Kyriazi, explores themes of war, love, time, and dreams.
