Larissa to host international cardiology congress and gymnastics championship

The city of Larissa, Greece, is set to host two significant international events in early October 2026.

From October 2 to 4, 2026, the 29th International Cardiology Congress of Central Greece will take place at the Larissa Imperial hotel. Organized by the Institute of Cardiovascular Education & Research and the Cyprus Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, in collaboration with the University of Thessaly's Cardiology Clinic, the congress aims to present the latest scientific data in cardiology. The program includes lectures from Greek and international researchers, roundtables, and satellite lectures covering topics such as cardioprotection in cancer patients and transcatheter techniques for heart valve diseases.

Additionally, on October 3 and 4, 2026, the EAK Indoor Gymnasium in Neapoli will host the European Aerial Gymnastics Championship. Organized by the Global Federation of GAPAF and the Hellenic Federation of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics and Aerial Gymnastics, the event will feature over 250 athletes competing in disciplines including aerial hoop, silks, pole, straps, and loop. The championship is expected to boost the local economy and promote the Thessaly region internationally.
