Larissa to host international music performance symposium

The Larissa Municipal Conservatory will host a symposium titled ‘Creative Approaches to Musical Performance’ on October 17 and 18, 2026. The event aims to foster dialogue regarding the understanding, teaching, interpretation, and listening of music.

The symposium features distinguished academics, pianists, conductors, and researchers from Greece, Spain, and Italy. Organized by the Deputy Mayor of Culture, the Larissa Municipal Conservatory, and the Research Group for Musical Performance and Analysis of the Greek Musicological Society, the event includes scientific presentations and practical workshops.

Key organizers include Christos Lenoutsos, Director of the Larissa Municipal Conservatory, and Kostas Hardas, Associate Professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The program will explore how analysis, historical knowledge, and physical gesture influence musical execution and the listener's experience.
