Larissa to host international Roma youth workshop
Roma children from five countries will gather in Larissa, Greece, on November 3 and 4, 2026, for the international workshop titled “4. 5 Roma Peer Facilitators.” Held at the Mylos tou Papa, the event is part of the European Union co-funded project “Voices Unheard – Roma Children Leading the Way: Active Participation for a Brighter Future.”
The initiative, organized by KEAN and coordinated by OlamAid, aims to empower Roma children, particularly girls, by increasing their participation in democratic processes and social life. Participants from Germany, Greece, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Ukraine will attend, with three children representing each nation.
During the workshop, the youth will share experiences, engage in creative activities, and co-draft a “Youth Declaration.” The program includes discussions on education, social exclusion, and discrimination, supported by partners such as the University of Thessaly and the Municipality of Larissa.
