Researchers' Night 2026 brings science outreach to Greece
Researchers' Night 2026, a pan-European initiative designed to bring science closer to the public, is being celebrated across various Greek cities on Friday, September 25, 2026.
In Larissa, the event is hosted at the Papas Mill by the Laboratory of Animal Physiology of the University of Thessaly. The program includes live experiments, technology demonstrations, and interactive activities aimed at fostering curiosity in children and adults.
In Crete, the University of Crete is opening its doors in Rethymno and Heraklion. Additionally, the Institute of Plasma Physics and Laser (IPPL) of the Hellenic Mediterranean University in Rethymno will host demonstrations of the 'Dias' laser, particle acceleration, and X-ray technologies, alongside stargazing activities.
Across Greece, events are also scheduled in Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Lamia, Ioannina, and Kozani. In Athens, the National Observatory of Athens and the Academy of Athens will feature space science, astrophysics, and astronomical observations.
